Professor and Head of Department Computing and Information Systems

Dr. Angela Lee is Professor and Head of Department Computing and Information Systems at Sunway University in Malaysia. She designs, builds and launches data science programmes at the institution.

She was recently awarded the SAS Global Forum Distinguished Educator Award for 2021. This award honours an educator who has made significant contributions to advancing analytics education and preparing students for careers in analytics and data science.

Dr. Lee is also a member of editorial and review boards for a number of international publications, including the Journal of IT in Industry, Journal of Data Science, Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems and more. She is also involved in several committees and memberships such as IEEE special group Big Data Technical Committee, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK, and she founded Sunway Analytics Society at Sunway University.

Dr. Lee has authored many published articles on sentiment analysis, social media analytics, predictive analytics, healthcare analytics and healthy aging technology adoption. Her work has been published and featured in international journals and conferences. She has also won several best paper awards and regularly speaks at data science conferences, and is principle investigator for several grants and industrial projects in the areas of data science.
